Design Team Call!

Our great little family at Scrap Shotz is expanding!  Would you like to be a part of a fabulous group?  Come on over and check us out, and if you like what you see, kindly consider applying to our team.  Here is the bulk of the posting:

We are looking for 2 dynamic, creative and enthusiastic new Design Team members!!! If you love being a part of a thriving online community and designing with the best kits in Canada, then this is the call for you!!

We are committed to fostering the best Design Team out there, so our compensation package is fantastic! If selected as one of our new Design Team members, you will receive:

•A full SSZ monthly kit – if you’re not familiar with our kits, have a look! They are jam packed, current and complete!

•35% discount on all other store purchases, to be shipped free of charge with your kit!

•$25 retail store credit every month, to be spent how you wish!

•The option to work with our very popular mid month kits (KT2)

•Your photo and bio on our Design Team page!

•$25 for every (print magazine or ideabook) published page/project/card!

What do we ask of you? Here you go!

•A one year term, beginning September 15, 2008 and ending September 14, 2009, with a review at 6 months

•Exclusive to Scrap Shotz (US and manufacturer sites are fine, but we ask that Scrap Shotz be the only online site in Canada that you design for)

•3-4 projects created every month with the monthly kit, to be uploaded on the last day of the month. 2 of these projects must be layouts.

•Kit insert projects once every 6 months as per rotating schedule (these are in place of your regular 1st of the month reveal projects for that month)

•Post an additional 2 projects of your choice in the gallery every month (these do not have to be new projects created specifically for SSZ)

•Blog posts as per rotating schedule

•Host Scrappy Hour (a simple, 1 hour project to be posted with step by step instructions and photos) once every six months as per rotating schedule

•Full participation in online crops 3/year

-monthly challenge with accompanying layout

•Daily message board and gallery participation. This is quite possibly the most important factor in this call! We cannot stress this enough. We have a great online community and our members are of the utmost importance to us, so this is huge. This will be discussed in further detail with our winners!

What are you waiting for?

Perspective

OK, I suck.  I’m a bad blogger, and I freely admit it.  I have taken some time away from the non-essential parts of my life and here’s why.  My family received some devastating news a couple of months ago, my FIL has cancer.  Not just cancer but stage 4 cancer, and it’s in multiple places throughout his body.  He is not going to get better but is undergoing “supportive treatment”.  He just turned 62.  The kicker is they don’t know for sure where it started or why, he has no risk factors… at all.

This has caused me to reflect on a lot of things… what’s important and what’s not mostly.  I have gained much perspective, and grieved in advance for my FIL, and what this means for my husband and my children.  Now that I have taken time away, spent lots of time with him and we seem to be in a bit of a holding pattern, I’ve decided to get back to life.  But a better life.  One where I keep my priorities in check and relish all the joys life can bring, ‘cuz you never know when that may change.

So scrappers, crafters and card-makers everywhere… benefit from my experience!  Don’t sweat the small stuff.  Spend more time making the memories than scrapbooking them.  Don’t take life too seriously and cherish your families.

Just thought I’d share what I’ve been up to lately. We had our April reveal on Scrap Shotz on Tuesday. Our April Kit consists of the vibrant Amplified Line by American Crafts, plus tonnes of fabulous embellishments! Here is a gander:

Online Crop this weekend at Scrap Shotz!

Starting on Friday, April 4th at 8pm EST and running through the entire weekend! There will be challenges, games and prizes galore! The crop is a Spring Fling theme, so lots of fun spring-related challenges for layouts and cards. One of the best parts?? Scrap Shotz is GIVING BACK! We are posting a special challenge in which for however many participate, SSZ will make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society! What a fun way to support a very worthy cause!
